Stagecoach Line Advertisement

1854

The advertisement of the Good Intent Line of stagecoaches, C.W. Lewis, Proprietor, of Yankee Springs, provides a schedule of the line for November of 1854. The illustration depicts the coach pulled by a team of four horses at full gallop. The coach left Grand Rapids on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings traveling to Middleville where it connected with the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo Line. On Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings it left Battle Creek and Kalamazoo, connecting at Middleville with the stages for Grand Rapids, which passed through Caledonia, Whitneyville, and Cascade.
