ArtPrize, "Field of Reeds"

GRHC - 2009

John Douglas Powers of Birmingham AL received $7000 for seventh place in the 2009 ArtPrize competition. His entry, a kinetic sculpture representing a wheat field, was constructed of steel, wood, and plastic and used an electric motor to move the stalks of wheat in a swaying motion. It was on display at the Old Federal Building.
