Principal Surveys Damage to Turner School
1908
Charles H. Cogshall, principal of Turner Street School, stands at the center of the remains of the building, following the devastating fire on the night of June 8, 1908, with two other men, also wearing suits and hats of the period, who are not identified. The sky is visible because the roof is gone, part of exterior walls are standing but interior walls appear to be destroyed, and a tangled mess of scorched building materials litters the floor.
