Centennial Decorations, Monroe Avenue

1876

Looking west down Mornroe Ave. from just east of Ionia where step ladders sit on the sidewalk in front of Crosby's, located on the NW corner and home of the hotel, the Morton House. One of the decorative Centennial arches spans Monroe, to its left in F. Immen Carpets at 84 Monroe, and beyond one can just see the large Centennial arch. In the immediate foreground is an open horse-drawn buggy and a wagon, more vehicles are on the street farther west, and a trolley car rides the tracks in the center of the road.
