This view looks east up both Monroe Ave. on the right and Pearl St. on the left with the bank building in the center. Streetcars and automobiles are on both streets. Signs identifying prominent businesses of the time are visible, i.e. Herpolsheimers on the right in the distance with Steketees across the street and Housemans near the bank on the left side of Monroe Ave; the Powers Theater across Pearl St. from the bank at the lower left of the photo and the Michigan Trust Building is farther east on Pearl St. The Grand Rapids Press building is located at the upper end of Monroe Ave. The Westminster Presbyterian Church steeple is visible behind the Press building.
