Eastown Explosion, Looking East

An explosion due to a leaking gas main caused total destruction to the building at 1500 Wealthy St. SE, at the southeast corner of Wealthy and Ethel Ave. on Tuesday, February 26th 2008. The DTE Energy(formerly Detroit Edison) truck and another heavy equipment vehicle on the left are parked on Wealthy St. just west of the Ethel Ave. intersection. A broken utility pole rests on wires and some of the remains of the building can be seen.
