Grand Rapids Police, Motorcycle Officers

1922

Six motorcycle policemen and their sergeant stand outside the the Police Station at Police Patrol entrance on Ionia. Their uniforms are belted jackets with large pockets, a shirt and tie, jodhpurs, and leather puttees to protect the leg. They wear caps and the officer in the center has goggles on his cap. Their motorcycles are parked behind them supported on a rear wheel stand. Two men are looking through the windows of the garage door. The stone and brickwork of the building is in the background, and a portion of the name "Police Patrol" is visible above the doors. The names of the officers are, left to right: Williams, Roe, Baker, Roy Field, Potter, Rymsma, and Sgt. Wilson who wears street dress.
