Roberto Chenlo, the Grand Rapids artist who carved and cast the statues for the "Spirit of Solidarity", sits on the edge of the monument which sits below ground level. Mr. Chenlo wears a jacket and tie. The cascading water can be seen beyond the statues of two men and one woman. Some visitors are in the background.

Title by cataloger. The photograph of Roberto Chenlo was taken on April 19, 2007 just after the dedication of the monument to honor organized labor on the 96th anniversary of the Grand Rapids Furniture Strike. The project was the work of the Labor Heritage Society of West Michigan.
