Mine foreman - 1922-23
Six miners working in the plaster mine are photographed, possibly during a break. John VanHammen is the only miner identified by the writing on the photo. They all wear caps, jackets, and boots, and the man second from the left wears an overcoat. Two metal cans stand in front, and one has Canadian Carbide written on the side.
