Burst Reservoir Damage
This photo looks east down Newberry St. NE showing houses damaged when the city reservoir broke, creating a flood which tore up the street.

The city reservoir near Belknap Park burst in the early morning hours of July 2, 1900. Houses and streets were destroyed, but due to a newsboy who spotted the leaking reservoir and warned residents, no life was lost.
