Paul Steketee & Sons' New Store

1916

Different architectural styles are apparent in the four visible buildings. The largest building in the photo displays a sign at the third level that reads,"Paul Steketee & Sons New Store will be Ready Next Month." Two horses and a cart stand on the street in front of the store, some building supplies are piled on the sidewalk, and the small workman's hut is behind the cart. A scaffolding is suspended about halfway up the store on the right side. Two of the boulevard street lights installed in 1912 can be seen at the left of the photo. A portion of an automobile is visible at the far right, and utility lines run across the street.
