Summit Street

Schuyler C. Baldwin - 1875

The view on Summit St. is an earlier view and almost the same location as the "Summit Street House" photograph. The two-story house in the center is the same; the overexposed white building to the left is where the Summit Street House will be built. The District No. 1 School is visible on the eastern horizon, but the steeple for Park Church has not been built yet. At the far right is the steeple for the Westminster Presbyterian Chapel. A boardwalk flanks the edge of the unpaved street.
