Pantlind Hotel Lobby

1915-1925

The registration desk in the lobby of the Pantlind Hotel is flanked on either end by Room Telephones and what appear to be booths available for privacy. A sign on the booth at the right reminds guests that "Rooms must be vacated by 7 P.M. on the day of departure." Message boxes for each room are behind the the counter. The clock over the center of the message boxes reads, "The Pantlind in the only Hotel in Grand Rapids under Pantlind management." Behind the clock a large painting of a resting male lion hangs on the wall. At the upper right and left portions of the balcony are visible. Alternating inset squares make up the pattern on the floor. A spittoon rests on the floor at the far right of the counter.
