Arleigh Hitchcock Design
1950s
Arleigh C. Hitchcock, a University of Michigan trained architect, designed this home for himself in Grand Rapids. The low flat-roof design features a carport, a western feature not generally seen in the Midwest in the 1950s. The photo appears to have been taken not long after completion of the house.
