Royal Barry Wills Design, Color
The Cape Cod design created by Royal Barry Wills of Boston would have been a more familiar form of architecture than the other designs featured in the Homestyle Collection. Its inclusion no doubt intended to provide a setting for the city's designers of traditional furniture. This design is the only one with a two-car garage. This home would have been built on Lot 32.
|Title||Royal Barry Wills Design, Color|
Title by Cataloger. Royal Barry Wills was one of many architects who designed for the Homestyle Center, a concept of Jason L. Honigman, planned for Grand Rapids in the 1950s. Popular with the middle-class following World War II, Life magazine in 1946 anointed Wills as creating "the kind of house most Americans want."
