Payson Wolfe, dressed in a suit and holding his hat, stands in front of a log house with a fenced enclosure behind him. Small wildflowers are in bloom on the ground. The inscription at the top read, " Payson Wolfe, Roy's grandfather, bodyguard & sharpshooter in Civil War to Gen. Burnside.
