Date:1956
Description:

This head-on photo of the Midtown Theater can be compared to the photo taken at an earlier time of the Powers Opera House. The Marquee advertises "Midnight Show every Saturday," and the current film is "The Scarlet Hour" made in 1956 which helps date the photo. The box office is located outside at the center of the entrance with a turnstile on the right. The windows of the building on the right are more ornate than the rectangular ones on the left. Most of the windows in the center and at the left have Venetian blinds in them. A street light is visible at the lower left as is a ca 1950 car, possibly an Oldsmobile.
