Benjamins-Spring Home

Benjamins-Spring Home

GRHC - 2007

The three-story Queen Anne home, built for Leonard Benjamins, stands at the northwest corner of Madison Ave. and Alger St. The lower part of the home is brick and the upper level is clapboard. The turret with its pointed roof topped by a weather vane is at one corner of the house. A large "S" that adorns the tall chimney which runs up the left side of the house probably stands for the Spring family, owners of the house after the Benjamins. A large front porch leads to the front door. A bird bath and sundial are on the lawn in front of the turret.
