Civic Auditorium (Welsh Auditorium)

City of Grand Rapids - 1933

The Civic Auditorium, a neo-classical building completed in 1932, was constructed on the east shore of the Grand River in downtown Grand Rapids. A large crowd is seen leaving the building where the name can be seen over the front, and many automobiles are waiting in the street. A street light typical of the time period is at the left of the photo.
