One of the first elements to be removed was the Indian head set into the area over the entry doors. A special diamond saw was brought to the site to remove many of the architectural elements so they could be preserved for installation in the new building which will occupy the site.
Iroquois Middle School, the original Ottawa Hills High School, closed in 2005. In December of 2008 it was purchased by the Grand Rapids Christian Schools.
